Research and Investigations
I have worked as a corporate investigations specialist for KPMG, researching and writing reports on corruption, bribery and other risk issues of individuals and entities. My communications and journalism work has of course also included research and data analysis aspects.
I was the managing editor of We Love Budapest and a journalist in the radio newsroom of SBS. I have contributed to Matador Network, Budapest Local, Daily News Hungary, CNN Indonesia and Planet TV in Slovenia, among others.
Communications and Copywriting
I am currently a copywriter for Saatchi & Saatchi. I continue to be a freelance copywriter, including writing web content and proofreading.
Women of Europe
I am passionate about womens issues and write a blog about the challenges women continue to face in the modern world. You can read it here.
After finishing a BA in Media and Communications I worked in various marketing positions for businesses ranging from small businesses to family-run enterprises and even a listed company. These roles taught me a lot about strategy, meeting business objectives and communications.
In my mid-20s I took two years off to travel around Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. Afterward I returned to Melbourne to study journalism. I was accepted into the Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism program of RMIT Univeristy - an university known for training some of Australia's best journalists.
As most do, I started gaining journalism experience through internships. During this time I moved to Jakarta, Indonesia to work at Metro TV, and I also completed a Masters in Communications.
I joined the radio newsroom of SBS - an Australian public broadcaster, where I gained experience in covering national and international news, doing interviews and creating radio packages.
I moved to Budapest, Hungary in 2014 and joined the popular travel website We Love Budapest soon becoming its managing editor. This role was as much about travel writing as it was about marketing the site to grow its audience. I'm proud to say the website had a huge jump in its readership during my time there. My responsibilities included managing the site's content strategy, managing a handful of staff, reader data analysis, and establishing the site's social media presence.
Interested in returning to investigative work. I joined KPMG as a corporate investigations specialist. This role involved researching and writing reports on potential risk issues relating to individuals and entities.
I am currently a digital copywriter at Saatchi & Saatchi. I continue to freelance as a journalist, copywriter and communications consultant.
I now have almost a decade of experience in diverse research and communications roles including journalism, corporate investigations, copywriting and marketing. I'm originally from Australia and currently live in Budapest, Hungary.
