A report by a public policy research group says the Australian Defence Force is not prepared for the future challenges of climate change.
The report says the ADF needs a climate strategy because the increasing severity and frequency of natural disasters will mean it is engaged in more non-combat missions.
Spokesman for the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, Anthony Bergin says diminishing natural resources and food scarcity may be among the threats to regional security in the coming decades.
Doctor Bergin spoke to Ildi Amon about the report’s findings.
